So, when the Longhorns failed to reach the College World Series for a second consecutive year in 2007, coaches, players, and supporters alike were severely disappointed.

As the program with six national titles and 32 CWS appearances continues fall workouts, history is on its side.

Even with the psychological edge, they have extra motivation.

"Right now, we're trying to get our feet on the ground. The players are starting to get familiar with their surroundings and the way we practice," Texas coach Augie Garrido said. "I definitely think this team has extra motivation and more focus this fall."
