Rice takes Game 1

The Rice Owls slipped by Texas AM 3-2 in ten innings to grab the first game of their Super Regional match-up. The Rice Owls trailed 2-1 heading into the bottom of the ninth when they scored one run on two hits. Jordan Dodson led off the bottom of the ninth with a single into left field. He was sacrificed to second by Tyler Henley. The next batter was Diego Seastrunk who hit a single back up the middle to bring home the tying run. Texas AM was able to get out of the inning without allowing anymore runs. Rice held the Aggies scoreless in the top of the tenth setting up a chance for the Owls to walk-off with a victory. Danny Lehmann laid down a bunt with two outs to get on first base. The Aggies then worked around Joe Savery who got a walk to set up 1st and 2nd with two outs. Jordan Dodson hit a single through the left side to drive home Lehmann with the winning run.

The teams will be back in action on Saturday at 5 pm on ESPNU.
