Louisville takes Game 1

The Louisville Cardinals opened up their Super Regional series with the Oklahoma State Cowboys and came away with a 9-0 shutout victory. The Cardinals scored three runs in the top of the first inning on three hits to get the partisan crowd in the game. Zack Pitts gave the Cardinals seven strong innings while giving up four hits and two walks. His record goes to 10-3 on the season. Oklahoma State starter pitcher Oliver Odle ( was lit up for five runs in 3+ innings of work and was lifted after Chris Dominguez hit an opposite field homer to lead off the fourth inning. Isiah Howes went 2-5 with 2 RBI to lead the Cardinals offense. Jordy Mercer was the only Cowboy with multiple hits in the game.

The teams will be back on the field on Saturday at 12 pm in the eastern timezone on ESPNU.
