UMass knocks off Holy Cross



The UMass Minutemen headed to Fitton Field in Worcester MA to take on the Holy Cross Crusaders were they walked away with a 4-3 victory. The Minutemen received a very strong pitching performance from Jim Cassidy who went seven innings while surrendering three hits and only one run. Adam Tempesta led the Minutemen offense with two runs driven in. Tyler Stampone was the only Crusader with a multiple hit game with two hits and a run scored in a losing effort. Holy Cross returns to action on Wednesday when they visit Harvard. UMass will host URI on Friday when UMass head coach Mike Stone goes for win number 500.
