NC State slides by East Carolina

The NC State Wolfpack scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth to pick up a 3-2 victory over the East Carolina Pirates. ECU received solo homers from Harrison Eldridge in the fourth and Brandon Harrison in the fifth to account for all the Pirates runs. NC State started the eighth inning with Joe Florio getting hit by a pitch. He proceeded to second pass on a pass ball and then Ramon Corona got his fourth walk of the game to set up a first and second situation. Marcus Jones then laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to set up second and third with one out. Ryan Pond then got the runner home from third with a ground out to shortstop. Pat Ferguson then followed with a two out single through the infield to drive Ramon Corona home from second base to tie the game. Ferguson then took second base on a wild pitch. Caleb Mangum then provided a clutch single through the left side to give the Wolfpack the lead for good. The Wolfpack is back in action on Friday when they face FSU and East Carolina will host Rice in conference action.
