College of Charleston downs Furman

The College of Charleston picked up a 12-3 victory over Furman on Friday evening. The story of the night was Nick Chigges who struck out his 300th batter in his career while going eight strong innings to get his 7th victory without a loss. Stuart Haywood and Chris Campbell each had three hits to lead the Cougars offense. Furman starter Marc DeDecker got knocked around in his four innings of work while giving up eight runs to drop his record to 1-3. The teams will be back in action at 6:00 pm for Game 2.
