Southern Miss knocks off Kent State 5-2



Ryan Belanger pitched eight innings while only giving up two runs (one earned) on eight hits to pick up his fourth victory of the year for Southern Miss in a 5-2 victory over Kent State. Southern Miss was led on offense by Trey Sutton who went 3-5 at the plate. Eagles closer Patrick Ezell pitched a perfect ninth to pick up his sixth save of the season. Kent State's offensive leader was Will Vazquez who went 2-4 with an RBI. The teams will be back in action Saturday at 1 pm with Evan Smith going for Kent State and Barry Bowden going for Southern Miss.
