South Dakota State takes Game 1

I posted on this site a few days ago that the KU-South Dakota State series was canceled but come to find out the series was rescheduled for this weekend in Minneapolis. The Kansas Media Relations department ended up putting out a press release saying the series was canceled but the Baseball program at Kansas found a way to reschedule the series in the Metrodome for the early morning hours of Saturday and Sunday. Full press release here.

The Jayhawks lost the first game of a doubleheader early Saturday morning by a score of 6-5. Kyle Murphy led the Jayhawks with a 3-3 performance and Kyle Morrison hit a three-run homer in a losing effort. In Game 2, The Kansas Jayhawks are leading 3-2 after eight innings with the game suspended due to the field having to be cleared by 7 am for other college baseball games which have been scheduled in the Dome.
