FSU dismisses Halford from team

Stephen Halford, who is a transfer from UNC-Wilmington, has been dismissed from the FSU baseball program after a violation of team rules. Halford was expected to compete for the starting spot at third base in the 2008 season as Jason Stidham is rehabbing from off-season knee surgery. Stidham is expected to get moved to second base when he recovers. Steven Cardullo is expected to get a serious look at third base this fall and could start in 2008 at the spot. Dowdy dismissed from ECU Baseball team

Josh Dowdy of East Carolina has been dismissed from the baseball program according to a press release put out on Saturday. He earned a spot in the rotation in 2007 where he posted a 5-2 record with a 3.62 ERA. The full release is available here.
