• Rutgers 14, Connecticut 5 (Piscataway, N.J.)-Rutgers all American Todd Frazier hit his second grand slam in as many days and seniors Mike Bionde and Tim Querns drove in 3 runs each. Scarlet Knight starting pitcher Steve Healing went 7 innings giving up 5 runs only 3 earned on 11 hits. Meanwhile Huskies Center fielder HaroldBrantly went 3-4 with an RBI and 1 run scored. • Cincinnati 4,Notre Dame 3 (Cincinnati, Ohio)-Bearcats starting pitcher Dan Osterbrock went the complete game in chilly Cincinnati giving up only 5 hits and 3 earned runs and striking out 5. Notre Dame pitcher David Phelps did go all the way also 4 runs (1 earned) and striking out 7. • Pittsburgh 6, Louisville 4 (Louisville, KY)-After Louisville tied the game at 3 in the 6th, Pitt picked up two in the 8th and held on to a 6-4 win over the Cardinals on Friday, snapping a seven-game win streak. Louisville Recap
  

BIG EAST Friday Recap

• Notre Dame 1, South Florida 0 ; (South Bend, IN)-Notre Dame Sophomore pitch David Phelps(4-1) went all the game and shut the Bulls out, he also fanned 10. Notre Dame's lone run came on a home run from senior caption Mike Dury. For South Florida Danny Otero(4-4) went 7.2 innings, giving up 1ER and striking out 4.

• Connecticut 4, St. Johns 3; (Queens, NY)-UConn starting pitcher Mike Tarsi (2-1) went 7 inning giving up 3 runs (2 earned), striking out 4 Red Storm Batters. St. John's starting pitcher Scott Barnes(1-2) took the loss giving up 4 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. Matt Unteit led the Huskies going 3-4 and an RBI.
